Shiva, Eshwara, Mahalingeshwara, Temple in India, Ancient, Bangalore

I would like to Thank you for Visiting this Blog which is created on behalf of
"SHREE MALEESHA MAHALINGESHWARA SAMITHI"

Few Words to share About the Supreme:

the supreme creator and he himself is the triad. The supreme Shiva is Rudra (or hollow) and
is formless. This supreme Shiva is represented by the Shiva Lingam and is pronounced by the
universal word ॐ (Aum). The Shiva Lingam is full of mysteries and tales and myths, some of
which are even baseless. Nevertheless, this is one of the most popular form in which the
Lord is worshipped.

The Sanskrit word ‘Lingam’ means symbol. Thus the literal meaning of Shiva Lingam is the
symbol of Shiva. The Supreme Shiva doesn’t have a form and every form is his form. The Shiva
Lingam represents him, the Supreme Shiva¸ who is formless. The way when we see a smoke, we
infer the presence of fire, the moment we see Shiva Lingam we immediately visualize the
existence of the Supreme Shiva.

The Lingam Purana states:

The foremost Lingam which is devoid of colour, taste, hearing, touch etc is spoken of
as Prakriti or nature.

About The Maleesha Mahalingeshwara Temple:

Shree Maleesha Mahalingeshwara Temple is one of the Historical Temple of Lord Shiva which is located in Shyamabattara Palya, Gopalapura Village, Near Hesarghatta, Bangalore.

Mahalingeshwara (Eshwara or Shiva) is one of the Most powerful God of we Hindus. We have been worshiping Lord Shiva from the ancient age and this Historical Temple is believed to be Installed (Prathistapan happened) during the time of Pandavas. Its Said that when Pandavas were in Vanavas they were travelling through this place they installed the Achala Lingam(Fixed Lingam) or Shiva Lingam then formed this Shiva Temple. Later during the rule of Raha Raja Chola it was rebuilt to a Gudi. Its believed that The Maleesha Mahalingeshwara Temple has got the presence of Powerful God Dhanwanthari who is believed to be the Master-God of Ayurveda. It is very rare that we find the Idol of Lord Dhanwanthari and with temples presiding to Lord Dhanwanthari are rarer still. Dhanwanthari is regarded as a part-incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Its believed that The Shree Maleesha Mahalingeshwara Temple is a very powerful temple with presence of Gods include Shiva, Durga and Dhanwanthari.

All the above said information was shared to us by a popular Kerala Jyothisi who had visited this place and during the time of Astamangala Prashne (In Indian and Hindu tradition, the Ashtamangala may be used during certain occasions including: pujas, weddings (of Hindus), and coronations) he gave us the complete details about this Historical Place and called this place a "KSHETRA".

The Ashtamangala finds wide mention in the texts associated with Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. They have been depicted in decorative motifs and cultural artifacts.

Currently we have moved the god from the actual place for the Jeernodhara(re-construction or renovation) purpose. We currently are in the mid-completion of the construction. Photo's of the carvings and the progress shown below.

We are currently expecting the devotees of Lord Shiva to donate towards the temple and help us to complete the construction within the said period.
